Coconut Chai Spiced Tea (Printable Version)

Black tea infused with coconut milk and aromatic spices creates a creamy, naturally sweet beverage.

# Ingredients Required:

→ Tea and Spices

01 - 2 tsp black tea leaves or 2 tea bags
02 - 1 cinnamon stick
03 - 3-4 whole cardamom pods, lightly crushed
04 - 1-inch piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
05 - 2-3 whole cloves

→ Liquids and Sweetener

06 - 375 ml water
07 - 240 ml full-fat or light coconut milk
08 - 1-2 tbsp coconut sugar, optional, adjust to taste

→ Garnish

09 - Pinch ground cinnamon or star anise, optional

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Bring 375 ml water to a boil, then add the cinnamon stick, crushed cardamom pods, sliced ginger, and cloves. Simmer gently for 5 minutes to infuse flavors.
02 - Add black tea leaves or tea bags to the simmering spices. Allow to steep for 3 to 5 minutes, adjusting steeping time for desired strength.
03 - Pour in coconut milk and continue to simmer on low heat for 2 to 3 minutes to blend flavors. Stir in coconut sugar to achieve preferred sweetness.
04 - Strain the liquid into cups to remove tea leaves and spices. Garnish with a pinch of ground cinnamon or star anise if desired. Serve hot or chilled over ice.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Adjust sweetness with coconut sugar to suit personal taste. Full-fat coconut milk gives a creamier texture.
