Classic Fried Egg Sandwich (Printable Version)

Buttery fried eggs on toasted sourdough with melted cheddar and optional fresh herbs or spicy sauce.

# Ingredients Required:

→ Bread

01 - 2 slices sourdough or whole grain bread

→ Eggs & Dairy

02 - 2 large eggs
03 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
04 - 1 slice sharp cheddar cheese or 60 g avocado

→ Seasonings & Optional

05 - Salt and pepper to taste
06 - Optional: Sriracha or hot sauce
07 - Optional: Fresh herbs such as chives or parsley

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Toast the bread slices until golden brown and crisp.
02 - Melt butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Crack eggs into the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until the whites are fully set and yolks remain runny, approximately 3-4 minutes. Optionally flip gently for a firmer yolk.
03 - Place the slice of cheddar cheese on top of the eggs just before finishing cooking. Cover briefly to allow the cheese to melt.
04 - Layer the cheesy eggs onto one slice of toasted bread. Add optional toppings such as Sriracha or fresh herbs if desired. Top with the second slice of toast.
05 - Serve the sandwich immediately while hot for optimal flavor and texture.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - For creamier texture, substitute cheddar with ripe avocado. Using fresh herbs adds brightness and a hint of freshness.
