In a medium skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef while breaking it apart with a spatula for 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat if present. Add taco seasoning and water, stirring thoroughly. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Arrange taco shells in a baking dish. Distribute the seasoned beef filling evenly among the shells. Generously top each with shredded cheese.

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles and shells become lightly crisp.

Remove the tacos from the oven and allow to cool briefly. Garnish with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, olives, jalapeños, and a spoonful of sour cream. Add fresh cilantro if desired. Serve warm.
