Homemade Beef & Cheese Pie (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 big onion, diced (about 1 cup)
02 - 1 pound ground beef
03 - ½ teaspoon salt
04 - Fresh black pepper, as needed
05 - Garlic powder, as needed (if you want)
06 - 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

→ Batter

07 - ½ cup Original Bisquick mix or plain flour
08 - 1 cup whole milk
09 - 2 large eggs

# How to Make It:

01 - Get your oven hot at 400°F. Coat a 9-inch glass pie dish with some veggie oil.
02 - Warm oil in a big frying pan on medium and cook your diced onion until tender, around 3 minutes.
03 - Toss in ground beef, breaking it up as you go. Cook till no pink shows, about 10 minutes. Pour off extra fat and add salt, black pepper, and garlic powder if you like.
04 - Put the cooked meat mix flat across the oiled pie dish. Scatter your shredded Cheddar over the meat base.
05 - In a small bowl, stir together the Bisquick mix (or plain flour), milk, and eggs. Pour this wet mix over your meat and cheese in the dish.
06 - Pop it in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until you stick a knife in the middle and it comes out clean.
07 - Dish it up while hot and dig into this tasty burger-inspired pie.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Switch the Cheddar with Colby Jack, Pepper Jack, or even Gouda for a different twist.
02 - Throw in some pickle slices, cooked mushrooms, or crispy bacon bits for extra punch.
03 - Go with a keto Bisquick swap if you want something less heavy.
04 - Keep any uneaten portions in your fridge up to 3 days. Warm up at 350°F until hot through.
