Watermelon Lemonade Drink (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

01 - A handful of fresh mint, slices of watermelon, or wedges of lemon or lime can jazz things up on top if you want
02 - 1/3 to 1/2 cup plain sugar, or use more or less depending on how sweet you like it
03 - 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup—add if you want an extra touch of sweetness
04 - 1/4 cup lime juice squeezed from about one big lime
05 - 6 cups watermelon, seedless, cut into chunks about 1 or 2 inches across
06 - 1 cup lemon juice, fresh (roughly from 4 large lemons)
07 - 1/2 cup cold water, plus a little extra if you want it thinner

# How to Make It:

01 - Pour this into glasses filled with ice. Add a little mint or fruit on top if you want it pretty. Have a sip and relax.
02 - Pop the jug into the fridge for at least half an hour, so it gets super cold and the flavors come together.
03 - Give a quick taste to see if it’s sweet enough. If not, mix in a splash of honey or agave and stir until it’s all mixed in.
04 - Pour in both your lemon and lime juice and give it a good stir so everything blends well.
05 - Push the blended mix through a cheesecloth or a fine strainer right into a big pitcher. Press it with a spoon to squeeze out all the tasty juice, then toss any leftover pulp.
06 - Toss your watermelon cubes, half a cup of water, and your sugar straight into the blender. Blend until it’s totally smooth and runny.
07 - Cut a ripe, seedless watermelon into cubes—make about 6 cups' worth. The riper it is, the sweeter this turns out.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Pick a juicy, seedless watermelon if you want the lemonade to taste bright and sweet. Tweak the sugar if you’re working with a super sweet melon or if you just want it less sugary.
02 - Feeling grown-up? Add half a cup of light rum or vodka before you chill it. If you’re making a batch for the kids or family, just leave out the alcohol and everyone can enjoy.
03 - Swap in different fruits in the blender or freeze the finished drink into popsicle molds for a really fun summer treat.
