01 - 
                Skin and dice the potatoes. Throw them in boiling water for 15-20 mins till they're tender.

                If you're using onions, cut them up and cook them in a pan till soft. Put them aside.

                Coarsely cut your cabbage and cook it with 50g butter in a pan till it wilts and gets soft.

                Take your soft potatoes and mash them up with what's left of your butter. Add salt and pepper as you like.

                Get your oven going at 180°C.
              
              
              
                06 - 
                Stir the wilted cabbage and cooked onions into your potato mash.

                Scoop all that potato-cabbage mix into a dish that can go in the oven.

                Sprinkle shredded cheddar on top and pop it in the oven for 15-20 mins, till the cheese melts and turns golden.
              
              
              
                09 - 
                Enjoy it hot alongside your main dish.
