# Ingredients Required:

→ Main

01 - 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
02 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
03 - 1 teaspoon onion powder
04 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
05 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
06 - 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
07 - 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
08 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika
09 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
10 - 1/2 cup ketchup
11 - 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
12 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
13 - 1 pound ground beef (80% lean)
14 - 1 (28 ounce) bag frozen tater tots
15 - 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Scoot your skillet under the broiler for about 1 or 2 minutes. Watch it so the cheese gets bubbly and melted but doesn't burn. Pull it out quick if it browns up fast.
02 - Sprinkle that shredded cheddar all over the top of the tater tots. Get it nice and covered.
03 - Take your crispy tots and lay them gently across the sloppy joe stuff. Press them into the sauce so they soak up flavor.
04 - Pour in ketchup, tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire. Mix everything up. Let it bubble gently on low heat for around 5 minutes so it thickens.
05 - Toss in garlic, paprika, onion powder, some salt, and black pepper. Stir for a minute till you really smell it.
06 - Drizzle olive oil in a big oven-safe pan on medium. Add the ground beef and onions. Cook about 8 minutes, stirring, till the meat gets nicely browned and the onions are soft.
07 - Start by following the directions on the tater tot bag. Spread tots out on a baking tray and cook till they're golden and crispy.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Go for extra crispy tots if you want a crunchier bite.
02 - Sharp cheddar tastes strong and bold, but switch to pepper jack if you like it spicy.
03 - Ground chicken or turkey works well if you want to skip the beef.
04 - Lay your tots close together on top so you won't end up with mushy parts.
05 - Add a little chipotle powder if you feel like a smoky twist.
