Fast Broccoli Garlic Sauté (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Seasonings

01 - Kosher salt, however much you like

→ Liquids

02 - 120 millilitres water

→ Spices

03 - 0.25 to 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes, crushed

→ Oils & Fats

04 - 60 millilitres good extra virgin olive oil

→ Aromatics

05 - 3 or 4 garlic cloves, chopped fine or minced

→ Vegetables

06 - 1 big head of broccoli, about 450 grams

# How to Make It:

01 - Splash in the water, throw a lid on top, lower the heat just a bit, and let things get nice and steamy. Stir every now and then so it all cooks the same.
02 - Toss all the broccoli spears straight into your skillet. Add a big pinch or two of salt and give it a good stir so everything’s coated.
03 - Warm the olive oil in a roomy skillet over pretty high heat. Drop in your chopped garlic and those crushed pepper flakes. Swish or stir so the flavor goes everywhere and let it all sizzle for a short bit.
04 - Trim off any thick, tough skin on the stalk and cut your broccoli into spears that are about the same size.
05 - Let it steam 15-20 minutes. Watch for broccoli to turn a deep olive color and get fork-tender. Taste and add more salt if you want.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Pour a little more olive oil over the cooked broccoli for extra flavor if you’re into that.
