04 - 0.5 g (¼ teaspoon) garlic powder
05 - 0.5 g (¼ teaspoon) Italian seasoning, plus extra for garnish (optional)
06 - Pinch black pepper

→ Base and Filling

07 - Cooking spray or oil for greasing muffin tins
08 - 8 refrigerated biscuits (453 g/16-ounce package)
09 - 60 ml (¼ cup) meatless pasta or pizza sauce
10 - 85 g (3 ounces) chopped pepperoni
11 - 200 g (7–8 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Combine softened butter, olive oil, salt, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and black pepper in a small bowl. Stir thoroughly until well blended.
02 - Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease eight muffin cups with cooking spray or oil, then remove any excess using a paper towel to prevent pooling.
03 - Separate individual biscuits. Press each biscuit gently into a muffin cup, molding it along the bottom and sides to create a secure shell. Use a fork to prick the biscuit base and sides several times.
04 - Brush the inside of each biscuit shell with the prepared butter seasoning. Then lightly brush about ½ teaspoon of pasta or pizza sauce inside each crust.
05 - Layer each biscuit shell starting with 1 heaping tablespoon mozzarella cheese, followed by ½ heaping tablespoon chopped pepperoni. Repeat this layering once more per shell.
06 - Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of Italian seasoning on top of each filled biscuit shell for added flavor.
07 - Place muffin tins on a baking sheet for stability, then bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 23 minutes or until biscuit edges are golden brown and cheese is melted. Check for doneness starting at 15 minutes and rotate the pan halfway through if necessary to ensure even baking.
08 - Remove gently from muffin tins using a spatula if needed, and arrange on a platter. Serve warm either in individual tins or plated.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Rotate the muffin pan 180 degrees halfway through baking if your oven has hot spots to ensure even cooking.
02 - If using foil muffin cups, place them on a sturdy baking sheet to provide support and ease of handling.
