→ Topping

02 - 4 ripe peaches, halved, pitted, and chopped into 1/4 inch pieces
03 - 1/3 cup red onion, finely chopped
04 - 1 clove garlic, minced
05 - 1/2 cup fresh basil, thinly sliced or julienned

06 - 4 ounces plain goat cheese (chèvre)
07 - 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
08 - 1 teaspoon honey

# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat broiler to high. Arrange baguette slices on a sheet pan and broil for 3–4 minutes, watching carefully, until lightly browned. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine chopped peaches, red onion, minced garlic, and sliced basil. Toss thoroughly to integrate flavors.
03 - Spread about 1 teaspoon of goat cheese onto each cooled baguette slice. Top with 1 tablespoon of the peach mixture.
04 - Arrange the assembled toasts on a serving platter. Drizzle each with a small amount of olive oil and honey. Serve immediately at room temperature.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Substitute nectarines, plums, apricots, or cherries for peaches if desired.
02 - For a vegan adaptation, use plant-based cream cheese and agave nectar in place of goat cheese and honey.
03 - Gluten-free bread or crackers can be used as an alternative base. Ensure all ingredients are certified gluten-free if required.
04 - Ricotta or cream cheese may be used instead of goat cheese for a milder flavor.
