03 - 6 large eggs
04 - 480 milliliters whole milk or half-and-half
05 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
06 - 60 milliliters maple syrup or 67 grams granulated sugar
07 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

→ Other Ingredients

08 - 28 grams butter, for greasing and dotting

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Cube the bread and layer half in a greased casserole dish. Evenly dot with softened cream cheese, then top with remaining bread cubes to form a thick layer.
02 - Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla extract, maple syrup or sugar, and cinnamon until smooth and well combined.
03 - Pour the custard over the bread and cream cheese layers, pressing gently to help absorption. Cover tightly with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight.
04 - Preheat the oven to 175°C. Remove cover, dot the top with butter, and bake uncovered for 45 to 55 minutes until golden brown and custard is set; test doneness by inserting a knife in the center which should come out clean.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Refrigerating overnight allows the custard to fully soak into the bread for a tender and flavorful result.
