01 - 40 unwrapped caramels at room temperature

→ Chocolate Mixture

02 - 340 grams milk chocolate chips
03 - 5 milliliters vegetable shortening

→ Cereal

04 - 75 grams crispy rice cereal

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Flatten two caramels together into a 1.25-centimeter thick rectangle. If needed, microwave for 5 seconds to soften for easier shaping. Repeat with remaining caramels and set aside.
02 - Combine milk chocolate chips and vegetable shortening in a heatproof bowl. Melt using a double boiler or microwave at half power, stirring frequently until smooth.
03 - Fold crispy rice cereal into the melted chocolate until evenly combined.
04 - Using a fork, cover each caramel rectangle with the chocolate-cereal mixture, ensuring the bottom is coated. Remove excess chocolate by running each piece along the bowl's edge.
05 - Place coated pieces on waxed paper and allow to firm at room temperature for 1 to 2 hours before serving.
