Set oven temperature to 180°C.

In a large frying pan over medium heat, brown the ground beef and season with salt and black pepper. If the beef is dry, add a small amount of olive oil or bacon fat. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

In a food processor, blend cream cheese and add eggs one at a time until smooth. Combine this mixture with the cooled ground beef, mixing thoroughly. Transfer to a greased 1 L casserole dish and press down evenly.

In a frying pan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté mushrooms until softened and browned. Season with seasoning salt, dried parsley, and black pepper. Spread mushrooms evenly over the beef mixture. Optionally, sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Place casserole in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until firmly set.
