                Turn the oven on to 350°F or 175°C. Grease a 9x13 dish all over so nothing sticks.

                Warm a large skillet on medium. Brown the beef, breaking it up until there's no pink left. Drain extra fat.

                Put the cooked beef in a big bowl. Stir in cream of mushroom and cheddar cheese soups until the beef is nicely mixed.

                Mix in the frozen potato cubes and half of the shredded cheese. Season with salt and pepper. Stir until everything's coated well.

                Spread the whole beef and potato mix evenly in the greased dish. Press down lightly to layer.

                Scatter the rest of the cheddar cheese over the top evenly.

                Wrap the dish tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

                Take off the foil and bake uncovered for another 30 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbling.

                Give it a few minutes out of the oven before serving to help it set.
