# Ingredients Required:

01 - 2 slices white or whole grain bread

02 - 1 large egg
03 - 60 grams grated cheese (cheddar, pepper jack, or gruyere)
04 - 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
05 - Salt, to taste
06 - Black pepper, to taste
07 - Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Lightly toast the bread slices or broil for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until slightly golden.
02 - Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). If using a toaster oven, position the rack at the bottom and select the bake setting.
03 - Crack the egg into a small bowl and whisk until fully combined. Stir in the grated cheese and fresh herbs if using. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
04 - Spread the egg and cheese mixture evenly over the toasted bread, making sure to cover the entire surface to the crusts. Sprinkle with a pinch of cayenne pepper if desired.
