Christmas Eve Lasagna Layers (Printable Version)

# Ingredients Required:

→ Pasta

01 - 12 sheets lasagna noodles

→ Cheese

02 - 425 grams ricotta cheese
03 - 400 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
04 - 100 grams grated Parmesan cheese

→ Meat and Sauce

05 - 450 grams ground beef or Italian sausage
06 - 794 grams canned diced tomatoes
07 - 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
08 - 2 tablespoons fresh oregano, chopped
09 - Salt to taste
10 - Pepper to taste

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Preheat the oven to 190°C and lightly grease a baking dish.
02 - Brown the ground beef or sausage over medium heat in a skillet. Drain excess fat. Add diced tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper, then simmer for 15 minutes.
03 - In a bowl, blend ricotta cheese with half of the grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.
04 - Layer the baking dish starting with a portion of meat sauce, followed by noodles, half of the ricotta mixture, and shredded mozzarella. Repeat the layering ending with mozzarella on top.
05 - Cover the assembled dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
06 - Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until the top is golden brown.
07 - Allow to cool briefly before slicing and serving.
