Chewy Sugar Cookies Delight (Printable Version)

# Ingredients Required:

→ Dry Ingredients

01 - 344 g all-purpose flour
02 - 0.5 tsp baking powder
03 - 0.5 tsp baking soda
04 - 0.5 tsp salt

→ Sugars

05 - 200 g granulated white sugar
06 - 50 g granulated white sugar for coating

→ Wet Ingredients

07 - 227 g unsalted butter, very softened
08 - 1 large egg at room temperature
09 - 2 tsp vanilla extract

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Preheat the oven to 175°C. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
02 - Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl. Set aside.
03 - Using an electric mixer on high speed, cream the softened butter and 200 g sugar together for 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy.
04 - Mix in the egg and vanilla extract on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until pale and very fluffy.
05 - Add the dry ingredient mixture gradually, mixing on low speed just until combined.
06 - Scoop dough by two tablespoons, roll into balls, then coat each in the reserved sugar.
07 - Place dough balls at least 5 cm apart on the prepared baking sheets. Slightly flatten and shape into circles.
08 - Bake 6 to 8 cookies at a time in the preheated oven for 9-10 minutes.
09 - Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Ensure butter is very softened to achieve the desired texture. Rolling dough in sugar adds a pleasant crunch. Baking time may vary depending on oven.
