Cheesy Mushroom Casserole (Printable Version)

01 - 450 grams sliced baby Bella or crimini mushrooms
02 - 1 cup chopped onions
03 - 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic

04 - 100 grams shredded Gruyere cheese

05 - 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
06 - 1 teaspoon dried parsley for garnish
07 - 2 teaspoons kosher salt (Diamond Crystal)
08 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

09 - 60 milliliters olive oil

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Preheat the oven to 200°C. Lightly grease a 2-quart baking dish with olive oil.
02 - Heat the olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, chopped onions, and kosher salt. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until mushrooms release their liquid and it mostly evaporates, approximately 10 minutes.
03 - Incorporate the minced garlic, black pepper, and dried thyme. Stir and cook for an additional minute, then remove from heat.
04 - Transfer the mushroom mixture to the prepared baking dish. Evenly sprinkle shredded Gruyere cheese over the top.
05 - Bake uncovered for about 15 minutes until hot and bubbling. Remove from oven, sprinkle with dried parsley, and serve immediately.

01 - For enhanced flavor, combine various mushroom types. Additional vegetables like spinach or bell peppers may be added. Store leftovers refrigerated up to three days.
