Set oven temperature to 175°C (350°F).

Prepare brownie mix as per package instruction. Spread evenly on the bottom of a greased 23 cm springform pan.

Bake the brownie mixture for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside.

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract together until smooth.

Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the baked brownie base.

Reduce oven temperature to 160°C (325°F) and bake for 50 minutes or until the cheesecake layer is set but slightly jiggly.

Allow to cool completely before removing from the pan. Serve chilled, optionally with chocolate sauce.
