18 - 227 g Greek yogurt or sour cream

→ Glaze

19 - 240 g powdered sugar
20 - 80 ml milk
21 - 1 tsp vanilla extract

# Guide to Cooking:

01 - Combine diced apples, white sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until apples soften and the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
02 - In a small bowl, thoroughly mix the dark brown sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
03 - Preheat oven to 175°C. Cream the unsalted butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. Incorporate applesauce, vanilla extract, and eggs, mixing thoroughly between additions.
04 - Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, kosher salt, and cinnamon. Alternately add the dry ingredients and Greek yogurt to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined to avoid overmixing.
05 - Grease a 23x33 cm baking pan. Pour half the batter into the pan, sprinkle the brown sugar cinnamon mixture evenly over it, then spread the remaining batter on top. Dollop the cooled apple filling over the batter. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.
06 - Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake evenly.

# Extra Suggestions:

01 - Ensure butter is at room temperature before creaming to achieve a light batter.
02 - Avoid overmixing the batter to maintain tenderness and prevent a dense texture.
03 - Allow the apple filling to cool completely before incorporating to prevent sinking.
