Swift Sausage Mix (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 garlic clove, minced finely
02 - 1.10 lbs tiny party sausages, Korean Vienna links, or cut smoked types like knockwurst or bratwurst
03 - 1 small onion, cut into thin strips
04 - 2 bell peppers, any color, diced into chunks
05 - ½ teaspoon sesame seeds to sprinkle on top if you want
06 - 1 tablespoon neutral cooking oil, like veggie oil

→ Sauce Ingredients

07 - 0.5 tablespoon sesame oil
08 - 3 tablespoons tomato ketchup
09 - 2 teaspoons white or cane sugar
10 - 1 tablespoon gochujang, spicy or mild based on what you like
11 - 1 tablespoon soy sauce, light or regular works fine
12 - 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey for added sweetness

# How to Make It:

01 - Make small cuts across each sausage, around 3-5 slashes per piece. Don't cut too deep. Time-saving trick: do four sausages at once. Set them aside for later.
02 - Grab a bowl and mix together the soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, ketchup, sugar, and honey. Stir until everything's combined, then put it aside.
03 - Pour some oil into a big skillet, warm it on medium heat, then add onions and garlic. Give them a quick stir for 30 seconds.
04 - Drop the chopped bell peppers into your pan. Keep stirring for another 30 seconds.
05 - Add your sausages to the mix and stir for about a minute. Put a lid on the pan and let everything cook for 3 minutes until hot.
06 - Dump your sauce into the pan and mix so everything gets coated. Add sesame seeds on top if you're feeling fancy, then turn the stove off.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Keep any extras in a sealed container in your fridge for up to 4 days. Warm them up for 2-3 minutes in the microwave, or toss in a pan with a bit of water to reheat.
02 - Don't try freezing this dish as the peppers will probably turn mushy.
